Auf den Märkten dieser Welt zu HauseThe Renewable Fuels Agency reports that 740,000 t of biodiesel were used in the UK from April to December 2009 which is in line with the 741,000 t used in the same period of the year before. Ethanol use reached 235,000 (142,000) t. The share of biodiesel in total diesel supply was 4.3 (n. a.)% and that of ethanol in total petrol supply 1.6 (n. a.)%. About 308,000 (302,000) t of biodiesel were produced from soybean oil, 129,000 (218,000) t from rapeseed oil, 141,000 (79,000) t from tallow, 29,000 (27,000) t from used cooking oil, and 83,000 (89,000) t from palm oil. In the case of ethanol, 178,000 (118,000) t were produced from sugar cane, 35,000 (23,000) t from sugar beet and 12,000 (0) t from wheat.
