China: 2010 wheat crop seen at 112.0 mln t

The US agricultural attaché forecasts China’s wheat production in 2010 at 112.0 mln t which is above the 106.0 mln t produced in 2009. 2010/11 (July/June) imports are estimated at 900,000 (800,000) t, exports at 800,000 (500,000) t, domestic use at 103.8 (103.0) mln t including a food use of 96.8 (97.0) mln t, and ending stocks at 60.6 (52.3) mln t.
2010/11 corn output is projected at 163.0 (150.0) mln t, domestic use at 156.0 (153.0) mln t, exports at 200,000 (150,000) t, and ending stocks at 59.6 (52.7) mln t.
Barley production is expected to reach 2.5 (2.5) mln t, imports 1.5 (1.6) mln t, domestic use 4.2 (4.2) mln t including a food, seed and industrial use of 4.0 (3.9) t, and ending stocks 151,000 (371,000) t.
