Argentina: No further drop in cattle inventories expected for 2010

According to the US agricultural attaché, cattle inventories in Argentina will remain almost constant on  year at the end of 2010 at 49.7 (2009: 49.9) mln head. In 2008, 54.3 mln head had been recorded. Beef production is forecast to fall to 2.8 (3.4) mln t, exports should reach 380,000 (652,000) t and domestic consumption 2.4 (2.8) mln t.
