Germany: Ethanol production in July 2009 to Jan. 2010 17% up on year

The Bundesmonopolverwaltung für Branntwein (BfB) reports that ethanol production in Germany reached 637,000 m³ in July 2009 to Jan. 2010, the first seven months of marketing year 2009/10 (July/June), which is 17% more than the 544,000 m³ produced in the year-ago period. 525,000 (436,000) m³ thereof were produced for ethanol use.
358,000 (345,000) t of wheat were used for ethanol production as well as 109,000 (201,000) t of corn, 307,000 (200,000) t of rye, 117,000 (59,000) t of barley, 79,000 (53,000) t of triticale and 376,000 (365,000) t of molasses.
