Germany: Beer sales 3% down on year in Jan.-May 2010

According to the German statistics office, beer consumption in Germany amounted to 38.7 mln hl in January to May 2010 and remained thus 3% below the 39.8 mln hl consumed in the same period of last year. Consumption in North-Rhine Westphalia was 9.5 (9.6) mln hl, in Bavaria 8.4 (8.7) mln hl, in and in Lower Saxony 4.2 (4.1) mln hl.
