USA: Hog inventories 4% down on year as of June 1, 2010

The USDA reports that US hog inventories reached 64.4 mln head as of June 1, 2010 and were thus 4% below the 66.8 mln head counted at the same time of last year. The number of sows was 2.8 (2.9) mln head.
