Germany: Ethanol production 15% up on year in July 2009 - May 2010

The Bundesmonopolverwaltung für Branntwein (BfB) reports that ethanol production in Germany reached 969,000 m³ in July 2009 – May 2010, which represents an increase by 13% from the 857,000 m³ produced in the year-ago period. 790,000 (684,000) m³ thereof were produced for ethanol use.
540,000 (531,000) t of wheat were used for ethanol production as well as 161,000 (109,000) t of barley, 123,000 (94,000) t of triticale, 543,000 (243,000) t of rye, 152,000 (333,000) t of corn, and 606,000 (576,000) t of molasses.
