Syria: 2010/11 wheat imports revised up to 1.2 mln t

The US agricultural attaché has reduced its 2010 wheat crop estimate to 3.6 mln t from the previous forecast of 4.5 mln t (previous year: 4.0 mln t), due to the heavy yellow rust infestation. Imports are thus now expected at 1.2 (previous figure 1.0; previous year 1.2) mln t, total domestic use at 5.0 (4.8; 4.8) mln t, and ending stocks at 2.7 (3.0; 2.9) mln t.
