France: 2010 wheat crop expected at 35.3 mln t

The French agriculture ministry (Agreste) expects 2010 wheat production (excluding durum) to reach 35.3 (last year 36.2) mln t. Durum production is seen at 2.5 (2.1) mln t. Barley production is expected to reach 10.4 (12.9) mln t, thereof spring barley 2.6 (3.8) mln t, and winter barley 7.8 (previous forecast 7.7; previous year 9.0) mln t.
Rapeseed production should be at 4.5 (previous year 5.6) mln t, whereas the triticale production is seen unchanged at 2.0 mln t.
The sunseed area is estimated at 696,000 (previous forecast 692,000; previous year 725,000) ha, and that of corn for grain at 1.56 (1.57; 1.68) mln ha.
