USA: Harvest and crop condition update

The USDA reports that 54% of the 2010 winter wheat crop has been harvested until July 6, 2010, up from 38% in the week before and compared to 50% recorded at the same time of last year and the five-year average of 57%. Currently, 19 (7; 8; 12)% of the corn is silking and 52 (29; 28; 57)% of the spring wheat has headed. 23 (9; 13; 20)% of the soybeans are blooming.
71 (previous week 73; previous year 71)% of the corn crop is rated good to excellent and 10 (8; 8)% poor to very poor. Soybeans are rated 66 (67; 66)% good to excellent and 10 (9; 8)% poor to very poor. Spring wheat is 83 (84; 72)% good to excellent and 2 (2; 9)% poor to very poor; winter wheat 63 (64; 47)% good to excellent and 11 (10; 27)% poor to very poor.
