Pakistan: 2010/11 oilseeds and oilseed product imports up on year

The US agricultural attaché expects Pakistan’s rapeseed production for marketing year 2010/11 (Oct./Sept) at 180,000 t, which would be slightly below the 187,000 t of the previous year. Imports are seen at 1.0 mln (980,000) t and crush at 1.1 (1.0) mln t. Sunflowerseed production is forecast at 350,000 (400,000) t, imports at 380,000 (355,000) t and crush at 680,000 (700,000) t. Cottonseed output may reach 4.6 (4.3) mln t and crush 3.9 (3.7) mln t.
Palm oil imports are projected at 2.4 (2.2) mln t and that of soybean meal at 360,000 (285,000) t.
