Germany: Ethanol production 12% up on year in 2009/10

The Bundesmonopolverwaltung für Branntwein (BfB) reports that ethanol production in Germany reached 1.02 mln m³ in marketing year 2009/10 (July/June), which represents an increase by 12% from the 915,000 m³ produced in the previous marketing year. 832,000 (728,000) m³ thereof were produced for ethanol use.
577,000 (565,000) t of wheat were used for the production of ethanol as well as 175,000 (122,000) t of barley, 127,000 (96,000) t of triticale, 574,000 (281,000) t of rye, 164,000 (354,000) t of corn, and 634,000 (595,000) t of molasses.
