Auf den Märkten dieser Welt zu HauseAccording to Eurostat, energy from renewable sources was estimated to have contributed 10.3% of gross final energy consumption in the EU-27 in 2008. This was an increase from the 9.7 % in 2007 and the 8.8% in 2006. The highest renewable share of renewable energy in total consumption in 2008 was found in Sweden (44% of renewable energy sources in total consumption) and Finland (31%), whereas in Germany the share of renewable energy stood at 9%.
The EU target is a 20% share of total energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. Germany has a target of 18%.
