USA: Harvest and crop condition update

The USDA reports that 72 (previous week 72; previous year 70)% of the corn crop was rated good to excellent and 9 (9; 8)% poor to very poor as of July 26, 2010. Soybean condition was rated 67 (67; 67)% good to excellent and 10 (9; 8)% poor to very poor. Spring wheat was rated 83 (82; 74)% good to excellent and 3 (3; 7)% poor to very poor.
Currently, 84% of the corn crop is silking, which is up from the 65% of the week before and the 52% of the year before, and up from the five-year average of 70%. 75 (60; 60; 72)% of the soybeans are blooming. In addition, 79 (71; 76; 82)% of the winter wheat crop has been harvested and 94 (87; 92; 97)% of the spring wheat has headed.
