World: 2010 wheat production forecast revised down to 650.6 mln t

The IGC forecasts worldwide wheat production in 2010 now lower at 650.6 (previous forecast 664.1; previous year 676.6) mln t. Output in the EU-27 is now expected at 136.8 (141.7; 138.3) mln t, in Russia at 50.0 (57.0; 61.7) mln t, in Ukraine at 18.5 (19.0; 20.9) mln t, in the USA at 60.0 (56.0; 60.3) mln t, in Canada at 20.5 (22.0; 26.5) mln t, in India at 79.0 (81.0; 80.7) mln t, and in China at 114.0 (111.0; 115.1) mln t.
Global wheat use should reach 655.3 (657.6; 647.7) mln t, thereof for food 455.6 (455.1; 452.1) mln t, for feed 106.9 (109.4; 107.9) mln t and for industrial and other use 92.8 (93.1; 87.7) mln t. Trade is expected to amount to 120.4 (119.6; 124.4). This should lead to ending stocks of 192.1 (201.3; 196.8) mln t.
