UK: Poultry meat production 0.5% down on year in 2011

The DEFRA reports that poultry meat production in the UK reached 1.56 mln t in calendar year 2011 and was thus slightly below the 1.57 mln t produced in 2010. Broiler meat production rose to 1.30 (1.32) mln t and that of turkey meat was 170,000 (162,000) t.
