Germany: Fuel use in first two months of 2009

According to the Bundesamt für Wirtschafts- u. Ausfuhrkontrolle, the use of gasoline in Germany declined by 8% to 3.0 mln t in January to February 2009 compared to the 3.2 t used in the same period of last year. The figure includes a 61% higher ethanol use of 126,000 (78,000) t. Diesel use fell by 6% to 4.4 (4.7) mln t including a biodiesel and vegetable oil for fuel use of 357,000 (405,000) t.
