Our chartering team, consisting of certified shipbrokers, former mariners as well as former grain traders, ensures the optimal combination of wet and dry cargo. Their tasks include internal and/or external sourcing and scheduling of shipping space and cargoes.

Successes within the shipping activities are thus secured by our ship operations team, which makes them an important link in the value-added chain. Therefore, our team is staffed with experienced specialists, including former captains. Close and continuous communication with our chartering team and with the captains, stevedores, port agents, etc. is the basis for uncomplicated transactions and guarantees the high quality of our services and of our good reputation in the market.

With the steadily increasing international regulation, best practices, international supervision as well as easier access to arbitrage procedures, time has shown that early screening of ships and business partners as well as strict adherence to all quality standards is inevitable. This is the only way to provide reliable and high-quality service, the prerequisite for a smooth chartering business. To this end, our ship risk management department, adhering to the highest quality standards, is responsible for vetting the ships and ensuring correct documentation. They also provide the necessary risk insurance and are the contacts for all matters from claim settlement to arbitrage.

Information about the market and the current risk are of essential significance in the decision-making process. To ensure this, we have a competent and committed team who provides the exact presentation and management of the shipping risks at company level. Furthermore, it is the task of portfolio management to hedge any risks resulting from shipping goods or chartering ships. Among other things, the team uses financial derivatives and to this purpose manages a hedge book about Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs) and fuel derivatives.
