Trade in agricultural commodities is a key element in the world economy. In this business we are at home. Next to trade, our corporate philosophy is to organize the logistics of the agricultural commodities from the country of origin to the buyer in the importing country. In this way we ensure the worldwide supply of high-quality raw materials to the food and feedstuffs industry. This also applies today in the same measure for supplying the producers of bioenergy.

Since the foundation in 1919, Alfred C. Toepfer has been active in trading grain, oilseeds and feedstuffs. Today, the worldwide organization of Toepfer International consists of the headquarters in Hamburg, and 38 branches all over the world. More than 2,000 employees achieve a sales volume of more than 42 million tons annually. Toepfer International, founded in 1979, started with an equity of approximately 55.5 million Euro. Today, the equity amounts to more than 400 million Euro.
