Slovakia: 2010 wheat crop estimated at 1.3 mln t

Slovakia’s statistics office estimates this year’s wheat crop at 1.3 mln t which is 18% below last year’s 1.5 mln t. Barley production is forecast at 388,000 (554,000) t, rye at 37,000 (50,000) t, and triticale at 28,000 (33,000) t. Thus total grain production (excluding corn for grain) is likely to reach 1.7 (2.2) mln t.
Slovakia’s 2010 rapeseed output is also expected lower at 342,000 (381,000) t.
