UK: Malting barley use 3% up on year in July 2008 - March 2009

The DEFRA reports that 1.3 mln t of barley were used for malting from July 2008 to March 2009 which is 3% above the 1.2 mln t used in the year-ago period. Wheat use for milling reached 4.6 (4.4) mln t.
