France: 2008/09 wheat supply and demand

FranceAgriMer (formerly ONIGC) estimates France’s wheat production (excluding durum) in 2008/09 now at 37.1 mln t which compares to the previous estimate of 37.2 mln t and to the 30.8 mln t harvested in 2007/08. Domestic use is expected at 14.7 (14.7; 14.2) mln t including a feed use of 5.1 (5.1; 4.8) mln t and a biofuel use of 750,000 (750,000; 600,000) t. Exports should reach 14.9 (14.4; 12.2) mln t, thereof those to third countries 8.5 (8.0; 4.9) mln t. Ending stocks are forecast at 3.9 (3.9; 2.7) mln t.
